This project with Nex Architects involved the refurbishment of an existing Hangar building to form a new exhibition space with associated retail, catering and events use and also the conversion of an existing workshop building to form a new restaurant. The Hangar building required a carefully controlled heated environment provided by gentle radiant heating. The building was modelled to establish the summer time conditions and it was decided to reuse the existing smoke ventilators to provide natural ventilation to assist in summer time temperature control.
