The Cadogan Estate commissioned an architectural competition which was won by Nex-Architecture to design a new restaurant/café to replace the existing café on Duke of York Square. The striking and beautiful resultant building design respects the historic and high profile location and comprises a spiral shape formed from concrete. The large curved glazing panels will drop into the ground to allow the café to be entirely open in summer months and a public access roof terrace will be formed on the roof. The building is designed to meet a BREEAM excellent rating and the main public areas will be naturally ventilated with underfloor heating. E+M Tecnica are developing the MEP designs from stage 2 to completion.
